Thunder and Lightning!
We've had lots of rain in the area recently. The skies have been beautiful to look at and quite a bit of the rain in the recent days has happened at the end of the day. It clears and cools the air and makes everything look sparkling and vibrant.Looking out across the valley the spread of colors in the rain clouds is phenomenal.
The build up to the rain can be very pretty. The air gets heavier, hotter and then it breaks.
A few nights ago it waited until it was dark and then buckets of rain came down.
And there was thunder and lightning, and it was very close!

I love the rain. I love watching the clouds getting darker. I love hearing the first splatter and then the downpour. I love the smell of the world after the rain. That was a stunning shot of the lightning, DJ .. thanks for sharing. I've yet to capture my first lightning shot.
WOW! That is indeed a great shot! The power of nature to awe & inspire... I think that what rainy weather does to me. I love walking in the rain too, if there's no lightning.
